Holly Fairall is proud to be a full-time mom and working artist. She draws much of her inspiration from Greenpoint itself, as seen in her illustrations of our iconic water tower.
Her company, Holly’s HeART by Hand, creates whimsical illustrations cards and framed pieces made entirely on “treeless” Sri Lankan paper. How can paper be treeless, you may ask? Try combining 50% post-consumer recycled paper with 50% elephant dung and VOILA, there you have it. TREE-FREE paper. Continue reading →
Emily Trower-Young knows skin. She founded Sustainable Shanti as an experiment, giving samples of her personal daily face moisturizer to her family and friends, who kept asking for more. It has since become a full-fledged business.
As a person with super sensitive skin, I know first-hand how important it is to actually be able to understand the ingredients on product labels, when most creams sold in drug stores are made with artificial colors, preservatives, and chemicals. All of Emily’s products are completely (like, actually) organic so if you’re worried about animal testing and environmental impact, look no further.
She describes her face salves as a “face game changer.” It’s made with raw coconut oil, sweet almond oil, tea tree, and lavender…so if that’s any indication, we can guess that it smells heavenly to boot.
Mark your calendars and start making your holiday goodies!
We are booked for Sunday, December 8, 2013 for our Annual Greenpointers Holiday Market from 1-7pm at The Greenpoint Loft (67 West St, 5th Fl)
Note:our venue has changed, but it is not far (same building) and it is bigger and better with 360 degree views of Brooklyn and the NYC Skyline and the space itself is flooded with light. Because we had to seek a new venue, the spacerental price has gone up significantly. In turnour table prices have also increased. That being said, we have done our research and our rates are competitive with other markets. As always it will be the BEST local shopping market around town!
Included is a FREE Featured Vendor Post on Greenpointers.com (worth $125) for all vendors who are accepted and submit information about their business in a timely manner.
Sharon Goldberg is a super cool chick (and Greenpoint resident) that started this one woman show and has a knack for creating beautiful teeny tiny terrariums that you can wear!
It all started when she had custom made a terrarium for a friend who loved it so much he said he wished he could wear it! Wishes do come true and these self sustaining wearable pieces of nature make a very special gift.
