If you haven’t been before, Greenpoint Open Studios is an epic showcase of local art. Over the course of one weekend (this year June 3-4), hundreds of local artists open their studio doors to the public for an exciting peek inside their craft. It’s an uncurated, free event that allows visitors to get a glimpse of the process and space where artwork is created while engaging directly with its creators. Brooklyn has a long-standing reputation for being a hotbed of creativity and GOS is going to represent its northernmost tip in true Greenpoint fashion—by keepin’ it real—providing an open platform for showcasing the various expressions of our creative community’s imagination and skills. This year, we have more than 400 artists participating, and an exciting lineup of events:

LAUNCH PARTY @ JAVA STUDIOS
Friday, June 2 | 730pm-1130pm | Java Studios (252 Java St)
The festivities will kick off with an outdoor reception, gallery show opening, musical performances and DJs, live body painting, performance art, installations, video screenings, and magazine launch at Java Studios, which is home to 200 artist and design studio spaces.

GOS last year

ARTIST OPEN STUDIOS – all over Greenpoint!
Saturday & Sunday, June 3 + 4 | 12pm-6pm
Artists will open up their doors to show finished work alongside work-in-progress. During this time, there will be special events and walking tours peppered throughout the neighborhood. To navigate around, grab a brochure at the launch party or at one of the designated info hub spaces (see below for a list) and RSVP to stay up-to-date on all the activities! An online map is also coming soon, so keep your eyes on the GOS site.

Magick City

WRAP PARTY @ MAGICK CITY
Sunday, June 4 | 730pm-12am | Magick City (37 Box St)
Wind down your art-filled weekend with BBQ, beer, kombucha cocktails, music, and trippy projection art in the enchanting Magick City, a beautiful performance and art space that is also home to Mombucha, a hand-crafted locally brewed Kombucha.
