When Desperation Hits: FREE Food & Drinks In North Brooklyn

You got a job in Manhattan and live in Brooklyn baby, you ballin’! And then, after a couple birthday dinners you blew all your cash MC Hammer style. When it’s the end of your pay cycle and you’re hard up for skrill but still want to go out, free bar food might be your best option for “dinner”.

Alligator Lounge (600 Metropolitan Avenue) – Ye olde standby. All day erryday, free personal pizza with drink purchase (extra for toppings).

The Charleston (174 Bedford Avenue) – Free pizza (extra for toppings) from 12pm-8pm; from 8pm-330 am pizza is just $1.

Huckleberry Bar (588 Grand Street) – Free mac & cheese on Mondays (with drink purchase), plus Monday is movie night and they have a drink special that changes weekly to coordinate with the film.

Matt Torrey’s (46 Bushwick Avenue) – On Saturdays and Sundays they open at noon serving complimentary bagels with all the fixin’s, (and $4 bloody marys and mimosas, if you feel inclined to wash it down).

Archestratus (160 Huron Street) – On Saturdays from 2-7pm, they’re frying up a new arancine every week. Free with the purchase of any drink (beer, wine & vermouth). But yes—buy a beer, get a ball!

One Stop Beer Shop (134 Kingsland Avenue) – Free popcorn to go with some delicious (un-free) beers.

Desnuda (221 S 1st Street) – Free TRUFFLE popcorn. You fancy.

Redd’s (511 Grand Street) – Free popcorn, and potentially free beer if you kick ass at Skee Ball.

The Levee (212 Berry Street) – Twizzlers and cheeze balls (YES!).

Duke’s Liquor Box
(170 Franklin Street) – Duke’s hosts frequent booze tastings. Sign up for their email list and get sloshed for FREE.

Dandelion Wine (153 Franklin Street) — Wine tastings every Thursday from 6-9pm. Classy.

Duff’s (168 Marcy Avenue) – Pay $3 to spin the Wheel of Misfortune and you might win some free stuff – free beers, shots, etc. But you have to eat the Dog Biscuit if you land on it (seriously).

duckduck (161 Montrose Avenue) – Two for one drink tokens for draft Rolling Rock and Narragansett and also for well drinks, everyday from 4-8pm.

Matchless (557 Manhattan Avenue) – Two for one drink tokens M, W, Th, F 3pm–8pm.  Tuesdays all day (3pm–2am). Saturday & Sunday 2-4-1 is 5pm–8pm. Includes select draft beers and well drinks.
