A/D/O (29 Norman Ave.) will play host to two workshops about food sustainability and how it relates to the restaurant industry next Wednesday, March 22nd from 9am-11:30am. The workshops are free, and there’ll be complimentary coffee and snacks. There’s more info to be found here.
Via NAG:
There will be two workshops hosted by Common Ground Compost, each focusing on important aspects of waste in restaurants. The first workshop is about the importance of recycling and new city regulations. The second workshop is a “how to” implementation. The workshops will be hands-on, providing useful information for restaurants to save money while lowering their social and environmental impact.
NAG is hosting this event with Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce, Green Hospitality Initiative and Brooklyn Allied Bars and Restaurants. We have come together because there is a lack of support for environmentally conscious restaurant practices while focusing on cost savings.
Industry people are welcome to arrive at 9AM where there will be related companies and organizations tabling. The idea is to provide a space for networking and connecting right at the event! You can meet the people behind Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, BK ROT, Dept of Sanitation, Happy Valley Meat and more. Then at 9:15 the first workshop will begin, lead by Common Ground Compost. Then there will be a brief break and the second workshop will start at 10.
