This past Sunday afternoon, the 7th annual TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint fed the masses in East River State Park. Over 40 of North Brooklyn’s restaurants, bars, breweries, and wineries came out to celebrate our community and have some fun on the late summer day with a little live music and games. A number of restaurants from our neck of the woods came out for the block party including Anella, Café Grumpy, Greenpoint Beer & Ale, Hail Mary, Le Gamin, and our latest hotspot 21 Greenpoint all made appearances.  The Greenpointers crew stopped by to check out the scene and taste all the things!

Taste Williamsburg Greenpoint was founded by The Firehouse – North Brooklyn Community Center (formerly the Northside Town Hall), a group working to renovate the former Engine Co 212 Firehouse so that we can have a permanent home for our neighborhood’s social justice organizations. The Firehouse currently runs original arts programming and community gatherings. Throughout the day, speakers took the stage to let us know about the work The Firehouse does and how to support them. Other neighborhood organizations like the Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce were also there to join in the fun.

Everyone had their choice of drinks to choose from. Coffee, ice tea, GuS sodas, Brooklyn Brewery, and lots and lots of booze were on hand. Laphroaig Whisky, Bulleit Bourbon, Tito’s Vodka, Don Julio Tequila, Tullamore Dew Whisky, and Reyka Vodka was just some of the booze available. You could also play cornhole & giant Jenga in the Brooklyn Brewery tent between bites.
