A new Mexican restaurant called Frijoleros has taken over Jungle Cafe’s old home at 131 Greenpoint Avenue.

Three Brooklyn natives quietly opened Frijoleros last week. Co-owner Fabiola Juarez told Greenpointers that she and her two partners, Cesar and Liz, have extensive experience in the hospitality industry. 

“We all grew up in Brooklyn, so naturally we wanted to open in this borough,” Juarez said. “When we saw the space we loved it.”

  1. Nice place, nice people. I went there when it opened. Music blasting so loud I could not hear the person I was talking to. Since they have to do red tape with getting gas maybe even a gas line, there is only non heated food. The booze list takes up the whole menu. Prices high but isn’t almost every menus in Greenpoint.

    Not a good place for seniors but maybe hipsters.
