The Guttman family plans to sell 67 West Street, one of the area’s most prominent hubs for small businesses, according to The Promote.
The details have not been finalized just yet, but the outlet says either The Jay Group or TF Cornerstone (both of whom recently purchased West Street property from the Guttmans’ Pearl Realty Management group) will purchase the building.
The Promote also reports that a few tenants were told that their lease…

Where does Greenpointers get the money to lease an office in an expensive commercial building on the Greenpoint waterfront? Inquiring minds want to know.
Not really what I would consider the main takeaway of this lol, but through ads, grants, and support from the city government, like many local news outlets.
Thanks for the reply. Given that the city is facing a budget shortfall which will likely result in tax and rent increases for New Yorkers of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, is it prudent for a local news outlet who relies on taxpayers funds to set up shop in commercial space with exceedingly high rent?
Not sure what you’re trying to get at here, but you have no idea what our rent our rent is. Enjoy your weekend, “Mary”!
Wow, super unprofessional reply but not surprised! You just told me your source of funding and then act indignant when I ask a pointed question about it. Would love to get some real local journalists to dig into Greenpointers use of public finances to fund this lavish waterfront lifestyle!

It’s not an expensive building, for NYC standards. Depending on when you moved in and the size of your unit, it’s could be well under $1000 per month. Despite the owners being seemingly subpar people, it’s still a community space for local business owners. We don’t have many options. Seems like now we will have less. We are just trying to run our business and live.
shut up dumbass
Clearly Greenpointers stopped moderating these comment boards, this non-player character “howardhawks1997” is allowed to use insults instead of facts to rebut what is a fair line of questioning
Not only that… Why would the Greenpointers CHOOSE to rent from a place that has such a bad reputation? Both with their office and the markets?? I’m not sure articles like this are doing them any favors. Makes them look pretty lame imo.
nobody cares about yr opinion margie
Yes we do
If you’ve been to the building you’d know it’s anything other than lavish. I was a tenant at a neighboring building to the one in question, also owned by Pearl Realty aka the Guttmans. The rent was reasonable but the condition of the building was poor, and they were impossible to get ahold of when there was an issue. In talking with tenants at 67 West about our shared issues with the management, I learned they only rented 67 West on a month to month basis. It’s a precarious position for a small business to rent with them, but there are few places in Greenpoint that a small business can access.
Thanks for the laugh this morning “Mary”
“Margie” and “Mary” you guys real estate plants or something?
Anna, are you hostile to fair lines of questioning regarding fiscal policy in every situation or just this one because you have an economic interest in the outcome?
While one would like to see a newspaper stand on its own, all papers including electronic are going the way of the dodo bird, extinct. I certainly do not agree with everything this paper prints or their take on it but it is the only source of major info dedicated to what is going on in Greenpoint and I thank them for that.
And what has this article accomplished? People sneering at each others post. Ridiculous!
I rent from this landlord and never had any problems. Pay your rent on time as agreed. Its a business and nothing last forever you need to learn to adapt if you want to survive
