There is nothing more one of a kind (and cool) than artwork by Greenpoint artists. We highly suggest that instead of mass produced junk destined for the landfill – buy local art for your loved ones – OR YOURSELF – this year! There are a TON of art shows – some with VERY affordably priced works – opening in Greenpoint this Friday the 13th…
This visual round-up is our gift to you. Feast your eyes…
“Calicornucopia #2” at Calico Brooklyn (67 West St #206) will exhibit over 100 small works priced $300 or less – everything ready to wrap – “a virtual cornucopia of art.”
Mix and mingle with exhibiting artists, neighbors, and art lovers at the opening this Friday 7-10pm. Continue to browse AND BUY on Dec 14, 20, and 21 from 12-5pm each day.
Look forwards to pieces from local artists: Hannah Lamar Simmons, Chris Smith, Allison Maletz, Pat Falco, Rachel Burgess + many many more. You might be able to spy one of my tiara drawings at this show, too…
Just around the corner Fowler Project Space (67 West Street, #216)Â is having it’s “Year Three” Birthday Party / Holiday Extravaganza and an affordable art show with works priced from $45-$150.
Basically dirt cheap!
Opening Reception is this Friday the 13th, 7-10pm (which means cheap beer and wine) and works stay up for sale until 12/14.
Artists to look out for: Tommy Kwak, Kate Nielsen, and Yuka Oda.
Down the block on Greenpoint Ave, The One Well (165 Greenpoint Ave) is having an exhibition of new paintings by Lauren Gidwitz titled By Land By Sea. Not only can you view these paintings, but you can also get holiday gifts for everyone at this eco-friendly and locally sourced Greenpoint Boutique.
Head north up Manhattan Ave to the GMDC Building (1205 Manhattan Ave, #241) and Clay Space 1205 is having their Annual Holiday Show and Sale. The opening is this Friday 12/13 from 6-9pm and the open studios and sale continues all weekend – Saturday 12/14 11am-7pm and Sunday 12/15 12-4pm.
There is nothing better than warm coffee or hearty soup out of a handmade ceramic vessel. Stay for the party and take home hand crafted ceramic treasures for those special people on your holiday list – or yourself!
And last, because there is more… if you’re in the mood for art + music, Greenpoint Gallery (390 McGuinness Blvd)Â presents a special showcase of past salon show winners and special live performances of their fave bands from 2013.
Buy local art – you will never want to throw it away!
