If the weather is perfect, we will brunch in the yard!
Clean Plate really makes the most delicious shrimp n’ grits that I have ever had, so I can only imagine how fantastic brunch appetizer and brunch dessert will be! Complimentary beer or wine also included.
Nothing is more Sunday than brunch! So for our 10th Sunday Supper Edition, Clean Plate Co. is preparing a delicious three course brunch at The Diamond (43 Franklin St) on October 6, 2013 from noon-2pm. That’s right – brunch dessert, plus booze! That’s a happy Sunday.
I have personally had Clean Plate Co.’s grits TWICE (because I am now a stalker) and am obsessed with a capital O!
It was a wonderful evening at Good Yoga (73 Calyer St) for Sunday Supper #6 with Chef Brenna White of Honey and Fig. The space was perfect for seating and serving such a large supper and the food was perfectly prepared. The cocktails were generously donated and expertly prepared by Brooklyn Gin. Plus we had beer from Brooklyn Brewery!

We are very excited to have Kerry Jones as our chef for Sunday Supper #9 on September 8, 2013 from 7-9pm at her own shop The One Well (165 Greenpoint Ave). Kerry Jones not only owns and curates The One Well but she has also worked as a private chef for the last several years.
This three-course meal will be dairy-free, grain-free, and animal-free, utilizing the freshest local and seasonal vegetables, fruits, and herbs, to highlight the best that late Summer has to offer and will include a cocktail from The Noble Experiment. Plus you can browse all the wonderfully curated artwork and locally made goods she features in the shop.

Each first Sunday of the month we have a Sunday Supper at a new location in Greenpoint with a new chef and each first Sunday Supper of the month I am nervous! There is a lot to do and a lot of unknowns. Like will it rain? Do we have enough utensils? Will the chef be on time?
Sunday Supper #7 was particularly more stressful because I was the chef and I suffer from Food Anxiety – which is a clinical neurological condition that involves worrying about making enough food for your guests. One of the symptoms is making way too much food! Everyone in my entire crazy family has this problem – it’s a genetic mutation on the Sicilian strand of DNA I inherited from my father Rocco. Sunday Supper #8 on August 4th, 2013 from 7-9pm will not only feature amazing and truly locally grown produce from North Brooklyn Farms, but the location within Havemeyer Park (Kent Ave bet. So. 3rd & So. 4th) with a view of the Williamsburg Bridge and a summer sunset behind the Manhattan skyline will be truly exquisite.
Chef Emma Jane Gonzalez and North Brooklyn Farms’ Farmer Ryan Watson present a menu of local seasonal food and Sailor Jerry is providing the cocktails. Proceeds benefit North Brooklyn Farms.

Tomorrow – Sunday July 21st at 6pm begins the first in our monthly series of Sunday Night Guest Grilling atThe Exley (1 Jackson St). We are pleased to have “Our Good Friend’s Mother” come by for some home cooked Caribbean food.
Be there for Jerk Burgers, Shrimp Kabobs, Trini-Style Boiled Corn and slightly cooler weather! Items can be purchased a la carte although we strongly encourage you to spring for an exceptionally large meal made up of each individual dish.
As we always do on Sundays, we’ll be serving from the best cocktail and craft beer lists in the neighborhood, hosting our very competitive Sidewalk cornhole tournament (look it up, it’s SFW we promise), and looking forward to meeting some new people.
