As Greenpointers, it’s an essential part of the Holidays to find the perfect event space to hold our sugar plum cocktails and holly jolly guests. You’ve got ugly sweaters to wear and pink elephant gifts to give! We’ve got you covered — here’s a list of places waiting to be your event elf for the Holiday season.
A swanky space located at the intersection of Bedford & Manhattan makes this a perfect party location — especially for 50 person Holiday events. Even better, there are open bar options available (because what’s a Holiday party without the cocktails). Got an office party, gathering of friends and family, or a pop-up event you need a venue for? They got a Pre-fix menu and family style options. Steps from the Nassau Ave G train, it’ll be great for those not from here to get home safe and sound. Booking your event at One Bedford increases your party-planning creds among your invitees. Email them to get more information.
It’s no secret that NYC burgers have become a bit of a luxury item. Foodie culture and “chef-driven” menus have made $20+ burgers the rule rather than the exception. But there’s no need to despair; the budget-conscious among us can still find some awesome burger-related deals if we know where to look. Fortunately for us North Brooklynites, our neighborhood’s got plenty of specials that include both the burger and its natural partner: a cold, crisp beer. Behold, the Top Burger And Beer Deals of Greenpoint (and sure, North Williamsburg too):
Although we still miss Franklin Street’s dearly-departed Cassette, we have to say: Threes Brewing is killing it at the pop-up game. Their open-ended residency in the space, Threes at Franklin + Kent, is the ideal spot to meet up with friends and grab a bite and a high-quality brew, and while they started their run with a snack-only food menu, they’ve since expanded into sandwich and burger territory. Their partnership with Purslane Catering lets them serve up substantial dishes that pair beautifully with their draft offerings, and they’ve built some very appealing deals into the menu. Our personal favorite has to be the Burgers + Beer Special ($12), available Monday-Friday from 5-7pm. You’ll get a grilled beef burger with Fontina cheese and caramelized onions on a Sullivan Street Bakery brioche bun, plus a side of smashed potatoes and an 11 oz pour of a Threes draft beer. Because it’s a pop-up, we know that Threes At Franklin + Kent may one day vanish as magically and suddenly as it appeared…but with a happy hour situation like that, we’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed for a long stay.Continue reading →
Last year’s TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint was nothing short of epic—we left dizzy with tequila courtesy of 21 Greenpoint, and our bellies full of tasty tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, pizza, and other delectable bites from North Brooklyn restaurants. The fest is an ideal way to sample the range of flavors at a number of different restaurants, all in one go. Going strong in its 8th year, this year’s event on September 17th from 1-5pm andis taking over the Williamsburg waterfront (90 Kent Ave). In addition to the more than 40 food and drink vendors, they’ll again host live music, demonstrations and other fun activities for everyone. TASTE is put on by our own North Brooklyn community center The Firehouse, so the proceeds go to benefit the renovation of the former Engine Co. 212 Firehouse for community activity. The Firehouse will provide a permanent home to neighborhood social justice organizations for continued advocacy and direct services to Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
Greenpointers readers (that’s you) can get 40% off your tickets by following this link. And it’s a sweet deal—$21 gets you 4 tastes and 2 drinks, $36 gets you 8 tastes and 4 drinks.
