Did you enjoy that amazing mulled wine at the Holiday Market? It was made with mulling spices donated by Greenpoint’s favorite spice, seasoning and rub company. Greenpoint Trading Co.’s has just launched a kickstarter campaign. Their $30,000 goal will be to invest in a build-out of their warehouse, more machines for production, more inventory and more staff. With more inventory and manpower they can take on more customers and expand beyond the East Coast.
This Sunday December 14, 2014 from 1-4pm they will be having a fundraiser at Dirck the Norseman (7 No. 15th St). They will be giving away FREE BEER to anyone who donates to their cause. So donate!
We raised $526 for The Greenpoint Soup Kitchen & Food Pantry, a local organization that feeds hundreds of hungry Greenpointers. Today they are busy making over 30 turkeys for homeless and hungry neighbors.
If you couldn’t make it out to the fundraiser on Sunday, why not make a donation in any amount to this important organization at this very special time of year.

We specifically host our Soup Bowl Fundraiser on the Sunday before Thanksgiving because we want to make sure that before we stuff our faces with turkey and pie that we have the opportunity to offer something to our neighbors in Greenpoint who might not be as well fed as we are during the holidays.

Local dog rescue, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, is hosting a fundraising sidewalk sale this Saturday, July 19th from 11am to 4pm outside of the Shoe Market at N. 6th St and Bedford Ave. Badass Couture will feature a curated selection of vintage and gently-used clothing, Badass merchandise, and of course adorable and adoptable doggies. All proceeds go towards the rescue, who rescue dogs from high-kill shelters in the southern U.S. and get them adopted into loving, New York homes.
Local artist Hannah Simmons and Greenpointers Market coordinator Yuka Miyata are fundraising to bring an important art project to children in an area of Japan that is still recovering from the 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami. It’s call NYC Art X Sweet Treat 311 and we created this video to help get the message out.
Tonight the folks at Cafe Edna (195 Nassau Ave) are hosting a fundraiser for the duo from 7-10pm. All drink profits will be donated to the cause, plus free mini burritos (while supplies last). Also there will be Japanese oldies music, raffles, prizes, gifts and the chance to write a message to the children in Ogatsu that will be delivered personally when the women head to Japan to realize their project.
