  1. It takes $500,000 and four years to build an affordable apartment in New York City. We can’t let these precious affordable units go away like this.

  2. You should publish names and photos of the landlords. People should know who they are. They should be publicly shamed

  3. Hello if your on rent control you can fight it tell that landlord who own the place to that you to court you will win your case. Landlord will get so many fines and Violations and dont let him kick you out cause that’s against the law.

  4. Sounds like bureaucratic red tape. In the 1970s-1990s, when Greenpoint was not as desirable as it is today, it was the other way around. Landlords could not make a living and sold or just gave up their bldgs. Welfare tenants never paid their rents and/or destroyed their blogs.

Now since Greenpoint is the #1 desirable area in NYC according to some reports, it’s some landlords doing the damage.

One possible defense for these tenants is to have tenants groups or even the city/DOB wire these tenants and get the threats/or the breaking of the law on tape and sue/jail these landlords.

  5. what a bunch of SOBs. Lazy negligence this is not. This is willful endangerment. SUE THESE PEOPLE AT “Perfect Management”

  6. It’s time for these tenants to see a lawyer ! Give Marc Aronson a call at 718 237 1960 for a $100 consultation. He is located at 107 Smith St Bklyn (Bergern St stop on G train + 2 block walk) . Don’t use any of these jokers in Greenpoint.

  7. This made my blood boil. Departments of NYC is failing it’s people. This should have been nipped in the bud from the beginning. These photos and videos are damning. I agree with seeking representation. You could get some much deserved pretty pennies for pain, aggravation, negligence, and not to mention health concerns that these tenants could be facing.
