  1. Temkin Bar was named after the carpet store owner that was there for eternity on Greenpoint near Manhattan Ave. Before that the family I believe were rag dealers on Milton Street close to the East River.

    Another great steal for lunch is Scallinos on Manhattan Ave off Bedford. They have a lunch special for $12 ie delicious salad and a generous plate of pasta plus a glass of wine.
