A new coffeeshop called Amélie Café recently opened at 860 Manhattan Avenue, the former home of Upright Coffee, which closed its doors in June 2025.
Upright Coffee was originally founded by Michael Medovoy, a co-owner of Sunshine Laundromat and Pinball which shares the same Manhattan Avenue address.
Upright’s replacement, Amélie, is located just two doors down from Paris Baguette, a South Korean chain of coffee shops and bakeries.
