This evening, Friday, April 8th, stop by Owen James Gallery for the opening reception of Charles Bukowski & Walter Robinson: There’s A Bluebird In My Heart
This selectively curated exhibition brings together the poetry of Charles Bukowski and the paintings and drawings of Walter Robinson. Bukowski is well known for his poetry and verse, in which he pulls no punches in his depictions of a life filled with drink, defeat and destruction. Robinson is known for his lushly painted and ironic critiques of mass culture, consumption and desire. By focusing on the artist’s “Backpage Ads” and “Still Life” series, complimented by Bukowski’s poem “The Bluebird”, a new appreciation of Robinson’s darker undertones is achieved.
