Local foodie event TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint is entering its 6th year this weekend and, judging from the scrumptiousness of last year’s celebrations, the event is not to be missed.
The annual afternoon of tastings will take place on Sunday September 13th in the East River Skate Park and will feature generous appetizer-sized samples from over 40 of the area’s best restaurants, bars, and breweries.
This year Greenpoint is represented by the likes of Anella, Bakeri, Champs, Le Fond, No Name bar and ice cream dream team Phin & Phebes. Meanwhile Williamsburg will have stalls from Maison Premiere, Oddfellows, Pies & Thighs and many more. All these tasty treats will be accompanied by live music and, no doubt, hot hot sunshine, making it the perfect way to eke out summer that little bit longer.
The best thing about the afternoon is that all proceeds will go towards the renovation of the Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center, located in the former Engine 212 Firehouse at 134 Wythe Avenue. The space will provide a permanent home to neighborhood social justice organizations for direct services to Williamsburg and Greenpoint and will work closely with local arts programming and community gatherings.
Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased in advance HERE. And if you want your pick of the goodies, it’s highly recommended that you get there early.
TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint will take place in the East River State Park (90 Kent Ave at North 8th Street) in Williamsburg this Sunday 13th September between 1-5pm.
