The New Warsaw Bakery will be moving to a new location, after 20 years on Leonard. We will miss the smell of fresh baked bread wafting down the street, but luckily they’ve promised to keep the family business alive elsewhere (maybe even another spot in Greenpoint).

We also got a disturbing piece of news: an unidentified buyer snapped up a large development site on the waterfront, known as 49 Dupont Street, meaning that an additional 3 residential towers could be built there (that’s in addition to the 10 Greenpoint Landing towers).

On a happier note, the NYC beaches open for the Summer Season this weekend! We got word that Rockabus won’t be running this year, but you can still take the NYC Beach bus to sandier shores (starting 5/26) and apparently they give you free Sixpoint on your way.

Speaking of Summer activities, Brokelyn has put together these event highlights for Governor’s Island, which has opened 30 new acres of public park land. Also  Thrillist made a master list of every single outdoor movie screening happening in NYC for the next few months, in chronological order. Thanks, internet!

You need to watch this hilarious video of a shirtless Williamsburg bro heckling people from his condo balcony. He even manages to bro-ify classic literature by yelling “Moby Moby Dick, Bitch.”

Queen of the Universe (Beyonce) was spotted eating with her boyfriend, who goes by “Jay Z” (who?) at Roberta’s. That’s how the Bushwick pizza joint got roped into that ridiculous blurry elevator scandal–the same one that dominated your social media last week. Now you know.

Speaking of Bushwick and its existence in a universe all its own, the neighborhood is now home to a polyamorous house, run by Open Love New York. They even have a hot tub, which we’re sure they put to good use.

  1. New Warsaw is on Manhattan/Lorimer, not Leonard. Hopefully they’ll stay in the neighborhood; 4am snacks after a long night out were always a treat!
