Mexican eatery Taqueria Ramírez (94 Franklin St.), is teaming up with seafood shop, Greenpoint Fish (114 Nassau Ave.), to give Greenpointers the collaboration that Taco Tuesday dreams are made of.
Both Greenpoint hotspots announced on Instagram that this collaboration will take place on Tuesday, August 16, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (or until the menu sells out) at Greenpoint Fish.
Chefs Orion Russell from Greenpoint Fish and Lobster and Giovanni Cervantes from Taqueria Ramírez have created a special menu, which features a variety of playful fish tacos and more including monkfish al pastor, scallops Ramírez, and a tuna tostada.
A few of Greenpoint Fish’s classics will also be available, plus a selection of natural wine and local beers and speciality drinks like Clamacheves and Micheladas. Limited edition shirts will be for sale also.
When asked who initiated the collaboration, Taqueria Ramírez said, “We both did!” Taqueria Ramírez told Greenpointers that Chef Orion is a regular at the taco joint, and that the team at the taqueria loves Greenpoint Fish’s seafood, so both parties were very interested in participating.
Greenpoint Fish is no stranger to working with local businesses in the neighborhood. The sustainable seafood favorite is currently responsible for the food menu at Threes Brewing (113 Franklin St.).
This special Taco Tuesday collaboration is first come, first serve, and unfortunately, they are not accepting reservations.
Have not been to Greenpoint Fish but have been to the Oak St. Mexican Place. It is iconic with lines snaking around the corner of Franklin St when the place opens. I was lucky enough to go on off hours and they were open selling overage from the last night in reasonable priced containers. Very nice owners, who sold me a container that was delicious. . The woman who sold it to me was eating a Popeye chicken box. I told her the grass is always greener on the other side.
The line was longer here last night than on the bread lines of the Great Depression. Only in Greenpoint.
