A block party is coming to Greenpoint! Frank Vintage, Leaves and Clever Blend are all joining forces to throw one.
On July 15 – 17 from 11 – 8 p.m, the block party is happening at Nassau Ave between McGuinness Boulevard and Newel Street.
All three stores first opened a little more than a month ago. Frank Vintage brings vintage clothing and items to Greenpoint. Leaves is a second-hand book store. Clever Blend is a family-owned coffee shop with another location (their first) in Park Slope.
Owner Nadia from Clever Blend shared in a previous article with Greenpointers, that the “Greenpoint community has embraced us since the opening.” The sentiment is also shared by Hailey Clemens, the owner of Frank Vintage, who mentioned how welcoming everyone has been. Francisco Hernandez, owner of Leaves, is a longtime resident of Greenpoint and specifically wanted to open a bookstore here since he loves the neighborhood.
Clemens spoke Greenpointers about how since all three stores moved in around the same time, they’ve all become fast friends who support and cheer each other on.
She praises the customers who come into their shops. The customers always comment how great it is to have some new stores in this part of the neighborhood, which is how the term “new kids on the block” was born and thus the fitting name of the block party.
“We wanted to celebrate how we have been welcomed by our Greenpoint neighbors and planned this fun block party event,” said Clemens. She is very excited and “looking forward to a super fun weekend”
Each store is doing a different kind of promotion, like sale items, refreshments, giveaways, and music. You can check out their Instagram pages for more details.
Frank Vintage will offer celebratory deals such as 20% off the entire store and 50% off select furniture. There will also be a $5 and $10 clothing rack.
Leaves posted in a story on their Instagram that there will be free books outside and a free drink with purchase.
So Greenpoint and non-Greenpoint residents — come through this weekend to welcome these businesses once again to the neighborhood. Also, come and get some vintage goodies, and some new reading material while sipping on an array of caffeinated or non-caffeinated beverages.
Wonder how the 48 is going to get by now…
Nassau Avenue will not be closed off for this event! Traffic will be able to get through all weekend ❤️❤️❤️
