Riis Bazaar is proud to announce its offseason restaurant partner, The Dropout – an exciting restaurant headed by Chef Julia Steinberg. 2019/2020 will mark Julia’s return as our offseason operator, having run the kitchen to raves 2 years ago.

Born and raised in Rockaway, Julia’s impressive background includes running kitchens for Rockaway Seafood, Whit’s End and Red Hook Lobster Pound. In addition to the above, Julia accelerated her personal culinary training at Chef’s Club here in NYC under Chef Didier Elena, where she studied a more traditional approach to fine dining. Julia also regularly hosts solo pop-ups at local eateries which routinely sell out within hours of their announcement. Over the years Julia has developed her own personal touch of service, style and farm-to-table consciousness, which reflects in her menu design and dining experiences. We very much look forward to hosting Julia’s return as our off-season restaurateur and executive chef.

The Dropout will open Friday, September 13 with HOG WILD – a full-on beachfront outdoor pig roast with 1 lb of whole cooked hog, 2 sides and cornbread, live music and plenty of spirits courtesy of our offseason bar, Riis Point. We are also very psyched to be bringing back Saturday and Sunday Beachfront Brunch – one of the most unique and gorgeous brunch experiences NYC has to offer!

The Dropout/Riis Point brunch hours: Saturday and Sunday 11AM-4PM (starting Sept 14); dinner hours: Thursday – Saturday 5PM-10PM (starting Sept 19).
