996 Manhattan Ave. rendering (via NY YIMBY)

The new rendering for the planned six-story mixed-use development at 996 Manhattan Ave. was revealed today, NY YIMBY reports, and the inevitable design evokes the future discerning Amazon exec seeking quick access to the Pulaski Bridge for their morning electric scooter commute. The building is currently under construction with 10,565 square feet of residential area and 797 square feet of commercial space planned.

INC Architecture and Design are the designers, the same team behind the Williamsburg Equinox gym on Bedford Ave., along with a portfolio of recent Manhattan and DUMBO developments.

The current three-story building with off-white vinyl siding will not exactly be missed for its architectural splendor, but its replacement is another sign of the times.
