The North Brooklyn Angels are throwing a Thanksgiving celebration in honor of the volunteers who give their time and effort to prepare and serve meals to our neighbors in need. The Thanks4Giving meal will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 5 – 9 p.m. at the Parish Hall of Mt. Carmel RC Church at 275 N 8th St.

The local nonprofit organization started in the winter of 2016 and by the summer of 2017 started serving free meals on the streets of Brooklyn out of their “Angelmbile,” a 40 foot mobile soup kitchen powered by volunteers.

Volunteers who help with the food prep and service are invited, as well as the general public: “As a friend, a valued community institution, and a supporter of the North Brooklyn Angels Mobile Soup Kitchen, we want to invite you to help us identify those volunteers who deserve all of our gratitude. Specifically, we ask if you would help us reach out to invite them and plan yourself, to stop by during the celebration.”

To RSVP email neighborsgivingthanks@gmail.com with your interest, or text (347)-752-2016.

  1. Let me get this straight, it is to honor volunteers but everybody is welcome and the volunteers are gonna do the cooking and prep work?

What do they get out of it?

It is like making your mother cook on Mother’s Day.
