Bikes! Beer! Parks! Amazing city views you can only witness on a 40-mile bike ride through Brooklyn and Queens! You can have it all this Saturday, July 25th in Brooklyn Greenways Initiative’s annual EPIC RIDE!
The Epic Ride is a 40-mile bike ride that starts at 8am in Greenpoint’s Newtown Barge Playground and ends in The Epic After Party on Rockaway Beach. The route takes bikers through Williamsburg, Dumbo, Columbia Waterfront District, Red Hook, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Floyd Bay Greenway and beyond. Best part? Bust through the finish line at Rockaway Beach and earn yourself some food and booze. But the fun isn’t over yet!
Once you’re properly refreshed, peel off those sweaty shorts, take a dip in the ocean and join the after-party complete with bands, tasty treats, and FREE BEER. Yes, Greenpointers free beer! After all that hard work, don’t you think you deserve it?!
Not sure you can swing such an Epic Bike Ride? Event organizers have got you covered.
Riders will be accompanied by marshals and mechanics who know what’s what along the route. There will be plenty of scenic rest stops along the way offering up refreshments to keep those electrolytes in check. A free bike valet will also be at the finish line for all participants. Great news for everyone wanting to partay!
The cherry on top? Participation in The Epic Ride supports the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, a non-profit that is connecting parks and open spaces from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge along a 14-mile landscaped route for pedestrians and cyclists.
So what are you waiting for Greenpointers? Register by Friday and get your Epic Bike Ride rolling this Saturday. Don’t want to swing the registration fee? No worries, sign up and volunteer. It’s happening rain or shine. Having a great time for a good cause has never been so easy.
