Now that it’s light in the evenings and actually fairly pleasant out, it’s finally time to contemplate doing fun things again. Just to ease you back into the swing of things, here’s info on three local dinner events that are worth staying out for over the next couple of weeks:
Done and dusted with your tax return? Pre-emptively spend your rebate on this five-course dinner at Dirck the Norseman (who celebrated their 1st Birthday yesterday…happy beer-day Dirck!). The evening starts with a brewery tour to help you work up an appetite, then diners sit down to enjoy five robust courses (menu above) each paired with a different delicious brew from Greenpoint Beer and Ale Co. The meat-heavy menu isn’t so great for veggies, but beer-loving carnivores will be in seventh heaven!
When: Tuesday April 14th, 7pm
Where: Dirck the Norseman (7 N 15th Street)
Price: $65
Reservations: Tickets can be bought HERE
2. Brooklyn Brewery Presents: BLAST! From the Past
The Brooklyn Brewery Dinner Party Series is back for a second year and this time they’re taking diners on a tasty time travel adventure at all-American tasting room Humboldt & Jackson. Each of their four dinner parties will revisit a specific era in NYC’s culinary history – Niuew Amsterdam, 1820’s, 1920’s, 1980’s. The first dinner party recreates the period of Dutch settlers and includes a rip-roaring four-course dinner each with a rare Brooklyn Brewery beer pairing and is even rounded off with a little pressie for guests to take home at the end. Dishes include clams with sumac butter, and a Dutch ‘hotchpot’ of smoked salt pork and root veg (full menu here). If last year’s series is anything to go by then this will be a brilliant night, especially for die-hard beer enthusiasts.
When: Thursday 16th April
Where: Humboldt & Jackson (434 Humboldt Street)
Price: $65
Reservations: Tickets can be bought HERE
