Where are the places you always take guests to eat when they come visit you in Greenpoint?
Brunch at Five Leaves? Pierogi at Lomzynianka? A Mediterranean feast at Glasserie? Let’s face it, we have a lot of amazing options to choose from.
This week, Village Voice named four Greenpoint establishments in their list of 99 Essential Restaurants in Brooklyn:
Paulie Gee’s – Zagat recently voted Paulie’s pizza the best in NYC. Now that IS a compliment.
Karczma – The long-standing top choice for Polish eats. And although it doesn’t have the kitsch interior of Lomzynianka, this is compensated by the fact the servers all wear traditional Polish folk dress.
Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop – Not strictly a restaurant but probably the best loved Greenpoint institution of them all. And who can resist devouring a $1 donut at an old-school countertop?
Luksus – The newest of the four Greenpoint picks has rapidly built a well-deserved reputation for its sensational Nordic-inspired tasting menu. And last year was awarded a Michelin Star…Greenpoint’s first!
These are all fantastic choices but there are also a lot more Greenpoint gems! Let us know what places would be in your top four…
Lomzynianka stinks. Karczma and Krolewskie Jadlo are far superior.
