There have been some changes to the open call I sent out last week. For one the location of the show has changed and will be held at The Yard (33 Nassau Ave). It’s an amazing space to hang art. The deadline for submissions has also been extended to September 2nd, 2013.

Please consider submitting your work and please share this with artists living and/or working in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It’s going to be a great show!

Ugly Art Room + Greenpointers + The Yard present “GREENPOINT: NOW” a group art exhibition at The Yard (33 Nassau Ave.) in participation with Greenpoint Gallery Night.

Opening Reception: Friday, September 13, 2013, 6pm-9pm

Exhibition: 9/13/13 – 10/04/13

There is never a better time than now, but the moving target of “in the moment” is ever elusive. We are often told to “let go of the past” and “stop worrying about the future.” At the same time we are told that “patience is a virtue “and that we must wait for the “right time.”

But what about now? What is now?

Now is a time and place.  2013.  Greenpoint.  Brooklyn.  USA.

This open call group exhibition, titled “Greenpoint: Now,” aims to present the contemporary artwork of artists living and/or working in Greenpoint.

Our team of curators will select work that may serve as a “snapshot” of the contemporary art community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, 2013.

Submissions of all mediums will be considered, as long as the artwork was created in Greenpoint, in the year 2013.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 11:59pm, Monday, September 2nd.

Selected artists will be notified no later than Friday, September 6th and *MUST* be able to deliver their work, ready to hang, to 33 Nassau Ave. on Saturday, September 7th at between 11am-noon.
