is turning five and throwing a big party – a HOMECOMING DANCE – TONIGHT
at 7:30pm at the Bell House (149 7th St) to celebrate 5 years of “living big on small change.”
The Brokelyn High Homecoming Dance
will sport cheesy varsity jackets, an awkward school dance photo booth, cheerleaders, a spelling bee, gender-neutral homecoming king and queen and even a real live marching band. Good thing you no longer have a curfew… Continue reading
My favorite thing to do is to go watch a movie that I never heard of so I have zero expectations and hopefully will be blow away. I’ve heard of Silent Drape Runners before, but until Jon and I just finished the entire Twin Peaks series (on Netflix) I didn’t know what it was referring to.
It’s supposed to be an amazing show tonight at The Bell House in Gowanus, so let’s leave it at that. I specifically am not reading the stellar reviews. I want it all to be a big surprise, like how Twin Peaks ended. If you haven’t spent two weeks of your life watching the entire series of Twin Peaks, do that – I promise that it will be time worth spent. I will let you know how it goes tonight.
If you are as intrigued as I am then buy some tickets and meet me there!
Had I know sooner I would have shared The Skint’s Vegan Cook-Off “Hors d’Oeuvres” Edition with you, even though it is all the way in Gowanus. Unfortunately it is SOLD OUT. I guess there are a lot of vegan enthusiasts out there.
I was asked at the last minute to compete and the first thing I thought of were Jon’s Baja Style Oyster Mushroom Tacos. It’s going to be a crazy day, frying the you know what out of enough beer battered oyster mushrooms to feed 250 guests, then coming back to Greenpoint for our Sunday Supper #6, but of course we will do it in the name of eating!
Wish us luck! We could win $250!
