Bring it Home at Brokelyn’s 5 Year Birthday Tonight! (10/16)

Brokelyn is turning five and throwing a big party – a HOMECOMING DANCE – TONIGHT at 7:30pm at the Bell House (149 7th St) to celebrate 5 years of “living big on small change.”
The Brokelyn High Homecoming Dance will sport cheesy varsity jackets, an awkward school dance photo booth, cheerleaders, a spelling bee, gender-neutral homecoming king and queen and even a real live marching band. Good thing you no longer have a curfew…
$1 beers from Brooklyn Brewery, while supplies last
-100s of $$$ in raffle prizes, like a BRAND NEW BIKE from Ride Brooklyn, a BAM membership, a $250 couples vibrator, a giant naked man statue from Film Biz Recycling, and way more; see the full list here.
-A performance by the legendary Hungry march Band!
-Host/school principal Scott Rogowsky of Running Late
-Special guest Danny Tamberelli, aka Little Pete of Nickelodeon’s masterpiece The Adventures of Pete and Pete
-A Brooklyn words spelling bee (hint: practice your “Kosciuszko” and “Schermerhorn”), with more prizes
-Free photos by Shootbooth
-All-time great high school dance jams by DJ Brian Blackout all night long
-A Hot for Teacher dance-off to pick our gender-neutral homecoming king and queen
-And also, we will have a mascot dressed in a bear suit
Raise money for the Brokelyn writers fund to keep the site going for another five years and beyond.

About Jen G

After living in NYC my entire life, I found the strongest sense of community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Running this blog is truly an honor and the best part is meeting its readers in real life. Everyday I am energized by smiles and inspiring conversations with fellow Greenpointers who tirelessly do and create incredible things that are good for our community and share the same love I have for life here. If you see me walking with my little dog "D" - please say hi!
