Greenpoint’s Stillwater Artisanal Brewery Will Create a Custom Beer Just for You!

The “Gypsy Brewers” at Stillwater Artisanal are looking to open a home base at 321 Kingsland Avenue, which they’re calling “Production.” Stillwater Artisanal officially launched in 2010 and has been ranked as one of the best new brewers worldwide.

For the Greenpoint hub, Founder Brian Strumke envisions an “experimental fermentation facility, creatively integrating a brewery, eatery, bar and event space into a community hub for beer lovers, gourmands, and creatives.” The whole space is set to open in the fall of this year, and in addition to food, drink and creative events, Production will offer visitors limited edition beers and a chance to view the brewing process.  Continue reading

3rd Ward may have had its faults (more of them than we imagined, it seems), but there was something deeply inspiring about a huge workspace and resource center designed especially for Brooklyn’s many talented creators, and we’d be lying if we told you its presence won’t be missed. However, in the wake of the spot’s closure, we’ve found ourselves reminded time and again that 3rd Ward wasn’t the only game in town–so many of our friends and neighbors have other studios, class centers, coworking quarters and event spaces with their own amazing offerings. Bushwick Daily and Greenpointers reached out to some of our favorite such institutions, and it’s with great pride that we present our readers with our official guide to ten of this borough’s greatest places to take your creativity when making is your job. Waiting for Godot until 8/18 at [email protected]

The more witty the DIY aesthetic of Overturn Theatre’s interactive installation Waiting for Godot grew, the more charming the production became.

The venue [email protected], a restored medical ward at the edge of the Greenpoint/Williamsburg border, has a history just creepy enough to be interesting without being frightening. The random foliage, trap doors and pop-up bartenders all added to the experience. Continue reading
