Greenpoint is about to dot its map with another record store: Academy Record Annex, currently on N 6th St and Wythe Ave in Williamsburg, is coming to the hood sometime this September.

  1. I’m confident Greenpoint will ever be as fugazi boho as Williamsburg. the spectre of pollution and the “awful” (its not that bad) G train will keep most away.

    1. It’s been there for a while now. It’s an itty bitty coffee shop with amazing cookies and french macarons. It smells like heaven inside. You have to try it!

  4. I agree with the ‘more the merrier’ judgement- when I find the time to go out to a record store I go to all within walking distance. So now we’ve got the Captured Tracks shop, Permanent, Record Grouch, CoOp 87 and soon Academy. They’re all great shops. I guess I’m gonna go broke now…
