A 31-year-old man was fatally shot in Greenpoint this morning.
According to Citizen, an incident was initially reported at 229 N. Henry Street at 5:18 a.m.
Police were shortly on route, and confirmed that a shooting incident had occurred by 5:22 a.m. They requested EMS for the victim’s life-threatening injuries and began to canvass the area, including nearby McGolrick Park, for the suspect.
Multiple outlets report that the man was shot while in a parked car, reserving parking spaces for a Law & Order shoot.
“The suspect came up, opened the car door, and shot him multiple times, ABC 7 reports. “He was struck in the face and the neck and taken to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.”
Police are still looking for the shooter.
