A teenaged girl was “found dead” inside a Greenpoint home on Thursday, NBC NY reports.

16-year-old Skylar Darragh was found “unresponsive in the home on Leonard Street,” at around 3:15 p.m. by NYPD responding to a 911 call, according to NBC NY:

Police did not say whether there were any signs of trauma to her body, but they suspect a possible overdose. The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine how Darragh died.

More details, including the cause of the woman’s death, are not available yet.

  1. Ok, a 16-year-old girl is NOT a woman. How IRRESPONSIBLE are you? Did you have parental consent to provide her name in your article? This teenager’s family deserves privacy and respect due to the nature of this horrible event. The names of 16-year-old criminals are withheld to shield them and their families. You have gone beyond creative license and hope you are sued. I am a journalist and the lack of ethics exhibited here is atrocious.

  2. 1st of All your not a medical examiner. Have some respect for my family & my deceased cousin take this down. You have NO RIGHT TO SPECULATE AN OVERDOSE, She had medical issues.
