Lead Awareness & Action Day
Saturday, July 21 | 10am-1pm
Franklin Street Community Garden | 61 Franklin Street
More info/RSVP

This Saturday (7/21), head to the Franklin Street Community Garden (61 Franklin St) to get your soil (or soil you bring from anywhere in the neighborhood) tested for lead. After becoming aware of lead contamination in Greenpoint’s public and private soils, a coalition of parents of children from local elementary school PS 110 took action to increase awareness of the issue while promoting the importance of children playing outside. Saturday’s event will offer light refreshments and discussions with local experts about living with lead in our environment. Learn what you can do to keep yourself, your family, and your community safe.
The kick-off ceremony happens at 10:30am, with the event continuing until 1pm.
