The Lodge, a brunch staple (and deer antler chandelier pioneer) in Williamsburg on Grand & Havemeyer for 14 years, has closed its doors this week. According to a farewell statement on their Instagram, the closure was related to rising rent costs in the neighborhood. Read below for their full statement. Do you have any memories of The Lodge? Hello friends and family! It is with an extremely heavy heart that we are announcing the closing of our family restaurant, Lodge. It’s been a long run of 14+ years and we can no longer compete with the astronomical cost of rent in Williamsburg. We’ve been pushed out.
Lodge was opened by Dan and Aaron. Lindsey and Dan were married at Lodge with Aaron officiating, surrounded by their friends and family. They’ve hosted countless gatherings, baby showers, and birthday parties. Their kids grew up here. They took their first steps here. Bella’s first job was here. Many of our staff members forged lifelong friendships and unions. We have created more than just a restaurant, we created a community. It guts us to say goodbye.
Join us this Saturday for a final farewell. The real party starts at 8pm. DJs and dinner till late. Throw down some extra cheddar to show the remaining staff some love. We will have a donation bucket to help assist us in the steep closing costs. We will be open this Sunday and Monday as well and closing for good after dinner service.
