It’s the holidays and if you stayed clear of the madness of black Friday and cyber Monday, you might still have a pile of people you need to buy gifts for. Or maybe it’s just time to treat yo’ self! Toasters and electronics are boring. Give and get some original art!

In its fourth installment, Calico Brooklyn has put together CALICORNUCOPIA, a Holiday exhibition of works by local artists priced at $300 or less. On opening night, I picked up a drawing “The Crush” ($80)  by Mike Hambouz, a gnome laser cut magnet ($40) by Adam Puryear, and a QR code ceramic ornament ($35) by Robert Raphael & Lauren Houston. I left the night in a rush to make on time for dinner at Cassette but there were several other cool pieces by some of my favorite local artists that I was interested in and will be going back for.
CALICORNUCOPIA will remain on view until Sunday, December 20. Calico Brooklyn (67 West St, #203) is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 12-5pm. It will also be open tomorrow night (Saturday, 12/12, 6-9pm) for the Faces of Death 2015 Artist T Launch Party, where 86 artists from around the globe will be contributing towards one commemorative T-Shirt.
If you can’t make it to Calico Brooklyn any of these days, shop online for works from the show here!
