Dear Greenpoint,

I moved to Oregon!

And I couldn’t think of a better morning to announce it because after yesterday’s election recreational marijuana is now legal here. While that is a respectable reason to move across the country, it isn’t the exact reason why I am now here. My husband Jon took a position as City Forester in Corvallis and our dreams have come true to go to hot springs and hikes every weekend and be around big beautiful trees. Can you tell I am happy?

I lived the last 33 years – my entire life – in NYC and it was time to move on. But Greenpoint will always be the home I return to. In fact, I’ll be back in a few weeks for our Holiday Market (12/7) and to screen our “Gasper & Son” Neon Documentary. I’m stoked to see everyone!

What about Greenpointers?

I have been answering this question for months. While running the business from the West Coast has been really fun and is totally manageable, I believe the best thing for Greenpointers is to hand the torch to someone who will continue its mission to serve you, the amazingly wonderful people of Greenpoint, while living less than 3,000 miles away.

Greenpointers is officially for sale.

Not only is the online business very successful but our events are a huge part of the brand, so I hope to find someone who can be a savvy local publisher and an event planning guru. I know you are out there.

Interested? Email me: editor@Greenpointers.com.

I will consider all serious inquiries, proposals and creative ideas and have a business plan ready for you to review.

The reason why I am announcing the sale publicly is because over 3 years ago when I bought Greenpointers, it was because owner and founder Justine Carroll sent out a similar email. There would have been no way for me to find out about the incredible opportunity had I not been a loyal follower myself.

It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The access to so many talented individuals and incredible organizations, not to mention the amazing and unique experiences that come along with this position is a privilege for which I am forever grateful.

With the help and support of so many, Greenpointers has grown so much. Now it’s time for someone with even more creative energy to run with it and make it even better!

In the meantime, Greenpointers goes on. Our talented contributors are committed to delivering great content and our markets and other fun events are all on schedule. We have market dates on the calendar through 2015.

In the meantime, I will continue to tap away on my laptop from Oregon and ride mules on my days off. (For real, that is my new hobby out here!)

Thank you for your continued interest, encouragement and support. You are the reason Greenpoint is awesome.

Sincerely,

Jen G. Pywell

  1. Thank you for all your work on Greenpointers. It’s been an incredible resource for me the past 4 years. Attending the first Market inspired me to participate in Holiday Market 2013 – It definitely influenced my business for the best. Thank you! Congrats on your move!

  2. Hello Jen, this is Anthony from Cafecito Bogota restaurant. We are very interested in the proposition, the purchase of Greenpointer! Please contact us so we can further discuss it. As you know we are an establishment of Greenpoint and believe we can add some new energizing value to Greenpointer, although you really have done a great job with it.
    Thanks
    Anthony & Fernando.
