Updated post here.
Long time Williamsburg Polish restaurant Raymund’s Place quietly closed up shop a few weeks ago despite “renovation” signs. A new restaurant – Kettle Pie – has applied for their liquor license and apparently will be taking it’s place. Kettle Pie Inc. was recently incorporated and falls into the “bakeries & catering” category… Curiouser and curiouser…

That’s a shame. I really loved Raymund’s.
Bummer! It kills me every time I see an “older” business close and watch the character of the neighborhood as I first knew it 14 years ago change. But again, it makes sense. And change is the story of New York City, really. I’m glad we stopped in to get some dinner a few weeks ago so we could enjoy it one last time.
change, shmange. those apple pancakes were the best dessert in town.
