If you need any more reminder on this last day of November, December is right around the corner! Time to start thinking about holiday decorating! Tree stands have started to assemble around McCarren park, but luckily this 2010 holiday season those of us who reside near McGolrick are in for a treat!
Fellow Greenpoint resident Charlie Poekel has opened a Christmas tree stand right off N. Henry and Nassau, open 24/7 until Christmas (all employees are residents of Greenpoint as well). The stand sells Balsam , Fraser, and Douglas Firs as well as the almighty Blue Spruce. Not to be missed are the wreaths (dressed or undressed), garland, lights, and tree stands. They also plan to make bi-weekly deliveries to the North Brooklyn area (Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Bushwick). As this is the first year I decided to have a tree in my apartment, I am really excited about this stand. The fact that it is so Greenpoint-centric just makes the deal sweeter. I have included below the Facebook event link if you would like any more information on the stand as well as Charlie’s twitter, which gives stand updates (and possibly pleas for hot cocoa).
