It’s a Small World After All

My favorite ‘hobby’ has always been vintage clothing. I was that girl who wore my grandfathers suit jackets and ties with torn Levi’s and Doc Martens in the late 80’s. In general, I just like old things.

One of the blogs I like to visit is the Fading Ad Blog by Frank H. Jump. I believe he’s a Brooklynite himself. Today he posted a fading ad for R & G Corsets right here in Greenpoint. Anything corset related makes me think of my Vintage Fashion Guild friend Lei of Corsets and Crinolines and wouldn’t you know the blog quoted her Antique Corsets Gallery in his piece!

From the past, to England, to Manhattan Ave right here in Greenpoint. It’s just the sort of thing that makes everything seem so neighborly. And it makes me smile.
