Last Monday neighborhood residents were witness to a rare sighting of the locally famous and indigenous/ursine hoops fan, KnickerBear. Standing near the corner of West Street and Greenpoint Ave. crying his hard, marble eyes out with middle fingers raised to the sky, KnickerBear let the north Brooklyn neighborhood know exactly what he thought of it–and of his team’s defense recently getting turned into Swiss cheese by Deron Williams and the rest of the Brooklyn Nets.
Seems like no matter where I go I see one of Chris Uphues’ happy heart wheat pastes. I’m not complaining. Bright and colorful with big dark eyes – they make my brain happy!
While on a walk in South Williamsburg I saw this amazing Egyptian Ronald McDonald wheat paste by Wizard Skull. Of course I instagrammed it and Wizard Skull sent me more twisted and disturbing Ronald McDonald drawings. The genius doesn’t stop there, as you can see with Freddy Kreuger as Skeletor and Abe Lincoln with a Rick Ross tattoo. Follow @wizardskull
In a great post about street artist Jilly Ballistic from SoLifeStyle, I was so excited about these pieces that incorporate screen shots into everyday scenes. The “move to trash” wheat paste on the subway movie ad really tickled my schmancy.
