Shakespeare in the Popup Park Kicks Off Tonight (7/25) [UPDATE: Cancelled Due To Weather]

Central Park might have the Delacorte Theater, but north Brooklyn has Bushwick Inlet (popup) Park, and the good folks at Hip to Hip Theater Company are turning the provisional green space at 50 Kent Avenue into a makeshift Globe Theater this summer.

Hip to Hip will stage All’s Well that Ends Well tonight, and King Lear on August 22nd. Each performance will begin at 7:30 and run 95 minutes. An interactive kids workshop will begin 30 minutes prior to showtime.

Tickets are not necessary; blankets, low chairs and picnic fare are encouraged!

Bushwick Inlet Park Kicks off Pop-up Outdoor Cinema Series with King Kong on July 30th

With free outdoor flicks on offer at both Transmitter and McCarren Parks, and rooftop screenings at Our Wicked Lady and The William Vale, sometimes it seems that North Brooklyn is one giant outdoor cinema.

Now, Bushwick Inlet Park is throwing its hat in the ring, and kicking off its new Pop-up Outdoor Cinema Series, with the 1933 classic King Kong.

The screening is made possible by the NYC Parks department, so kick back and watch King Kong climb the Empire State Building as you bask in a beautiful view of the skyline!
