A member’s only club is taking over the North 6th Street space most recently occupied by Urban Outfitters.

Swiss watchmaker Breitling has teamed up with VCR Group (of NFT restaurant infamy) to open a multi-level club with retail, live music, and a rooftop lounge, Brooklyn Paper reports. It should open in 2027.

VCR Group, founded in part by tech entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk (aka GaryVee), operates another private club on the Lower East Side. Flyfish Club opened in 2024, originally offering membership exclusively through an NFT purchased with cryptocurrency.

As you might have already predicted, this little scheme didn’t exactly pan out—Flyfish Club LLC was forced to pay a $750,000 penalty to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission “for selling the NFTs as unregistered securities” (the intricacies of the case are above this liberal arts grad’s paygrade, but I can unequivocally say that NFTs Are Very Silly Indeed).

Will the new space take a page from the neighboring Santander and its Work Cafe? Can we expect a Breitling Bar? The group’s specific plans are still a work in progress, but CEO David Rodolitz told the outlet that it will be different from Flyfish Club. VCR also operates restaurants in Las Vegas and New Jersey.

Brooklyn’s Community Board 1 approved the liquor license application in May, paving the way for a full approval from the State Liquor Authority.

Whatever is happening to 98 North 6th Street, let’s leave the snake oil out of it, yes?
