Speculation continues over what will take over 560 Manhattan Avenue, the space that most recently housed Bar Bruno.

Last week, neighbors passing by were greeted with a blast from the past when the original Enid’s sign was revealed amid ongoing construction. However, the former Enid’s team confirmed to Greenpointers that the beloved bar is not returning.

Since January, the rumor mill has been swirling that the Greenpoint Fish & Lobster team plans to take over the space. Business filings offer a clue. A notice posted this past winter shows that 560 MA BK LLC is seeking a liquor license for a new restaurant. New York State records link the LLC to Vincent Milburn, co-owner of Greenpoint Fish & Lobster.

At the time, we reached out to Milburn, who could neither confirm nor deny any involvement. But the Greenpoint Fish & Lobster team took over the original Bar Bruno location in Carroll Gardens this past May, apparently part of a package deal to take over both spaces.

Whatever their plans for the space, Enid’s will not be a part of it. For 20 years, Enid’s served as one of Greenpoint’s most beloved brunch spots and neighborhood watering holes before closing in 2019.
