Volunteer tree watering is happening this Saturday August 11th at 10am, meeting in Transmitter Park! In this brutal heat, the trees get dehydrated and need a little neighborly help to keep them growing—if you volunteer you’ll help water young trees along Kent and West Streets.

*Watch out for the park’s mockingbirds; we received a tip they are still actively defending their nests as of yesterday.

Hey, North Brooklyn, we need volunteers!

Come out for a fun morning of beating the August heat while watering some of Greenpoint’s young trees along Kent and West Streets.

Meeting Point: Transmitter Park’s Kent Street entrance
Buckets and other supplies provided.
Adult and kid volunteers are welcome.

The best thing we can do to support the health of baby trees in the neighborhood is to keep them well-hydrated. Trees often don’t make it past their crucial first couple of years due to lack of water.

We’ll be partnering with Greening Greenpoint, who will help us fill our buckets from their super-cool watering truck!
