FREE Movies In McCarren — Lineup Announced!

SummerScreen returns to McCarren park this July!

SummerScreen, presented by Northside Media (Northside Festival), has revealed its movie lineup for the summer! Brooklyn’s favorite free film and concert series will return this summer to McCarren Park for its thirteenth consecutive year. Taking place every Wednesday in July and August, the weekly event will screen eight films in the park and will offer food, beverage, and live music. Screenings kick off Wednesday, July 11.

The lineup for this year includes cult classics, comedies, and fan favorites such as Die Hard, Hackers, Love & Basketball, Fantastic Mr. Fox, When Harry Met Sally, and Jawbreaker. In addition, there will be a seventh musical themed night and film with the eighth film as an Audience Choice to be announced in August.

Doors open at 6, live music starts at 7:30, and the film starts at sundown. Without further ado, here’s the lineup, Greenpointers!

Additioanlly, Greenpoint artist Bethany Robertson has handcrafted limited edition posters for each film and SummerScreen event, which will be showcased at each screening.

“We could not be more thrilled to announce that SummerScreen will be back for its thirteenth year,” says Northside founder Danny Stedman. “We’ve carefully handpicked each feature film and hope that New Yorkers will continue to spend their Wednesdays with us, their friends and families in beautiful McCarren Park. We’ve got a number of surprises in store this year and are excited to share them with the community.”
