One thing Greenpoint isn’t short on is drugstores. That being said, there’s an ample selection of beauty products that give you a bang for your buck. Beauty can be luxurious, but it doesn’t always have to burn a hole in your wallet. After the jump are some of my favorite products.

Maybelline Nudes Palette, $7.19. I love a good nude palette for its versatility — day, night, work, or play.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish, $9.99. There’s no shortage of shades to choose from and you can treat yourself to a gel mani at home!

L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray, $12.99. My mom, who is also a beauty maven, told me about this hairspray and it’s great. It has a nice, soft finish without any hardening or “crunch.”

Nyx Matte Lipstick, $6. This is one of my favorite go-to lipstick brands. The colors are vivid, creamy, and long-lasting. Besides, who doesn’t want to wear a brand that is named after the Greek goddess of the night?

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara, $8.53. Usually, I can’t be parted from my Christian Dior mascara. However, buying $30 mascara on the regular isn’t too fun when trying to be budget conscious. I like to supplement my beauty arsenal with this little beaut.

OGX Moroccan Argan Oil, $7.49. I take a dime size amount of this stuff and work through my hair root-to-tip for some shiny locks.

Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo, $6.29. I recently discovered this gem after getting my hair dyed a touch darker. I use this mostly on my bangs to keep them from getting greasy, but it’s great on the rest of your hair as well.

L’Oreal Youth Code BB Cream, $11.29. A nice BB cream for light-to-moderate amount of coverage I reach for this on work days and in the spring and summer months.

Elf Studio Eyebrow Powder, $3. Because your brow game always needs to be on point.

Ardell Fake Eyelashes, $3. I’m partial to their #135 style, but this brand is my favorite drugstore brand for false lashes.

Giovanni Route 66 Max Volume Shampoo, $8.49. I tend to pick this up from the Garden on Manhattan Avenue whenever I’m running low.

Wet n’ Wild H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner, $3.99. A girlfriend of mine swears by this eyeliner and it will stay on practically forever.

Bumble and Bumble Shampoo, $25-30. While this is a bigger ticket item, Sedona (formally Chopain) has a sizable selection of Bumble and Bumble products.

Maybelline Baby Lips, $3.99. As a style and beauty blogger, I read so many posts and tweets about the praises of this balm that I finally gave in. And yes, it’s lovely.
Look: here’s a story of something that happened in Greenpoint today: http://gothamist.com/2015/01/12/slowdown_now_crackdown.php Now I am a girl and like makeup, but I come here for news and interesting things in Greenpoint. These products aren’t particular to Greenpoint either. Please let’s be up on local happenings, news, and places. Thanks!
