Long Island City is not as far as you think. And it’s definitely worth the trip over the Pulaski Bridge if you ‘re looking to discover a great shopping and mouthwatering eats at the LIC Flea, which METRO recently named the #1 market in New York City. Plus, it’s bigger and less overrun with tourists than a certain other market (*cough* Williamsburg Flea).
Queen’s biggest outdoor flea, the market brings together food from the best vendors and shopping for antiques, fashion, furniture and home décor, jewelry, art, collectibles and more, kicking off its second season this Saturday and Sunday, 4/5 & 4/6, from 10 am- 6 pm.
You can find the flea one block behind the iconic Pepsi-Cola sign at 5-25 46th Avenue. LIC Flea & Food runs every weekend through October and has new vendors entering the mix every weekend. And for opening weekend they’regiving the first 100 people in the market a free LIC Flea t-shirt!! WOOHOO free stuff!
The market is welcoming back many of the favorite vendors from last year, plus several new ones. You can expect a popular line-up that includes The Nomad Truck (which we LOVE), Arborio King, Butcher Bar, Ice Riders, An Artistic Taste, Tea & Milk, Bill’s Balls, Vint & York, Oconomi, Imran Jewels, Vivian Jewelry, Luke’s Lobster, Jam Jar NY, J&L Farms, and antique items and vintage-inspired original designs by 1926. They also have some new and exciting vendors joining us in 2014 including the King of Falafel & Shawarma, Grateful Bread Company, Vintage-Dealers Choice Jewelry and No Fork.
For more info on special events and new vendors, sign up for the LIC Flea e-newsletter at LICFlea.com and follow them on Facebook, Twitter @licflea and Instagram.
See you there!
