Hanky Blanky’s “Flower Freak” Tendencies

Hanky Blanky Patterns in Progress

Even baby clothing in Brooklyn has to have a vintage look! Hanky Blanky, our featured Valentine’s Market vendor, uses vintage handkerchiefs, fabric & trims from her collections of over 20 years of antique and flea market finds to pattern baby blankets, infant wear and bibs. And much of these prints come right out of the garden.

Designer Rosi told us:

Since most ladies’ hankies were printed or embroidered with flowers of all kinds, the two go hand in hand. Some say I am a flower freak!  I love to play with all the colors. I grow as many as I can….I dry and press them, too.

Hanky Blanky also creates dolls & puppets for baby and toddlers with re-cylced woolens and re-purposed sweaters.

About Jen G

After living in NYC my entire life, I found the strongest sense of community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Running this blog is truly an honor and the best part is meeting its readers in real life. Everyday I am energized by smiles and inspiring conversations with fellow Greenpointers who tirelessly do and create incredible things that are good for our community and share the same love I have for life here. If you see me walking with my little dog "D" - please say hi!
