  1. What? Have you ever actually had a slice there? I’ve given the place many, many tries but been really disappointed each time. Hands down my least favorite place to get pizza in Greenpoint.

That doesn’t make this any less sad on some levels though. The place seems to have been owned by the same guy for 30 something years and he was still there, hunched over the register, day in and day out.

Also to anyone else reading this: Carmine’s Original Pizza on Norman =/= Carmine’s Pizzeria on Graham. The latter is delicious.

    1. John you crazy. That pizza is awesome. It’s no Carmines on Graham but it’s better then a lot of other places in greenpoint. and Carmine is the man.

  2. Also, I thought you’d like to know the violations (total of 65 points, whereas last year it was 12):

    1) Cold food item held above 41º F (smoked fish and reduced oxygen packaged foods above 38 ºF) except during necessary preparation.
    2) Evidence of rats or live rats present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
    3) Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
    4) Live roaches present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
    5) Hand washing facility not provided in or near food preparation area and toilet room. Hot and cold running water at adequate pressure to enable cleanliness of employees not provided at facility. Soap and an acceptable hand-drying device not provided.
    6) Tobacco use, eating, or drinking from open container in food preparation, food storage or dishwashing area observed.
    7) Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
    8) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.
    9) Pesticide use not in accordance with label or applicable laws. Prohibited chemical used/stored. Open bait station used.
    10) Proper sanitization not provided for utensil ware washing operation.

What a difference a year makes!
