Thank you Greenpoint! Combined with the online fundraiser, we have raised almost $2000 for our local soup kitchen!
It’s important to support our local Greenpoint Soup Kitchen all year long but especially during Thanksgiving, when we have so much and so many of our neighbors in Greenpoint are not so lucky. While the soup kitchen feeds our hungry, they have been working day and night to make meals for those living in shelters displaced by Sandy.
Pastor Ann Kansfield and her adorable son John visited the event last night in regards to Sandy relief, she said, “this is going to go on for a long time.” If you didn’t make it out last night, be sure to make a donation to Greenpoint Soup Kitchen via papal, before you stuff turkey into your mouth – or after if you can’t wait!
Last night was an amazing success. Thanks to EAT for hosting the event, The Splendid Spoon for making three delicious soups and The Brooklyn Brewery for providing us with ALOT of beer. Thanks to Victoria and Yucca for helping to organize and to everyone who made it out. Last but not least, thanks for the gracious and gorgeous soup bowls donated by local potters. It was fun to watch guests make the tough decision of choosing a bowl.
The best part was watching guests enjoy soup out of giant serving bowls. That is what one of a kind local handmade goods are all about.
Thanks to the following potters and studios:
